About us
Who we are
The Investment Society Lausanne is a student-run investment fund that offers UNIL students the chance to gain hands-on experience in portfolio management. Our mission is to unite students passionate about investment management, help them develop practical skills to apply in the markets, and prepare them for careers in the finance industry. We also collaborate with industry professionals and firms on research and facilitate access to career opportunities within the investment sector.

Our story
Initially, Investment Society Lausanne (“IS”) was founded on April 3, 2019 by four 1st year undergraduate students having a strong interest in investment management and the desire to build a real investment fund managed by UNIL students.
Faced with the complexity of the activity, five additional members joined the founding group to help finalize the project. This development period lasted almost over a year and many obstacles came into play, notably the legal aspect of this innovative structure as well as the covid-19 crisis, which required major changes in the continuation of the activity.
Fast forward to 2021, IS became the largest association in terms of active members and has successfully reached CHF 10,000 in AuM with the support of private institutions. These achievements could not have happened without the the dedication and perseverance of its founding members.
All of them have now either entered the workforce or undertaken further studies at other prestigious universities.
Our trading certificate
In 2025, 5 of our members participated in the very first edition of the Campus challenge organized by Swissquote. After being selected for the finals, their certificate has been chosen to be officially listed on the SIX (ISIN: CH1481470248).
This certificate called Market Monopoly certificate centered on dominant companies operating within monopolistic and oligopolistic markets – industries where limited competition allows established players to shape prices, control supply, and influence global trends. Rather than seeking rapid disruption, this strategy focuses on firms whose scale, regulation, and brand strength create enduring barriers to entry.
